Together with the Dutch research institute TNO, Eaglescience worked on a Dutch National Technology Project called iCOBUS. This project is funded by the Dutch Royal Army. The goal of the iCOBUS project is to build a comprehensive suite of software tools that will help the Dutch defence organisation to setup and maintain collaborations with other parties when on a mission abroad and create cohesion with the parties involved. These parties can be for example coalition forces, local authorities or non governmental organisations. These collaborations are very complex and difficult to manage, because the members have diverse backgrounds and are often not co-located and may have different intentions and needs.
The tools in the software suite support the user during the different phases of the collaboration and improves the cohesion between the party members. However, the suite is not merely a collection of tools; the tools share their information intelligently among each other and the tool suite itself uses this information to suggest the user which tool to use given the current situation.
“The tools in the software suite support the user during the different phases of the collaboration and improves the cohesion between the party members.”
iCOBUS & Eaglescience
TNO has developed and tested the concepts of the different tools over the years and Eaglescience integrates and implements these tools in software.
